Moreover, this smart phone has got plenty of features. If you are a fan of HTC phones, the moment you hold the HTC Aria you will realize that the phone looks quite similar to HTC HD mini. The HTC Aria measures 4.6 x 2.3 x 0.47 inches and weighs 107.7g. The HTC Aria has a display that measures 3.2inches and has got features like accelerometer sensor, proximity sensor, touch-sensitive buttons (Home, Menu, Back and Search) and Optical trackpad. It is a capacitive TFT touchscreen that is capable of displaying 256k colors at a display resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. The display was found to be barely usable in direct sunlight.

On the left side of the Phone, you can find the volume controller and at the top there is power button through which the phone can be hibernated. Slightly on the left of the power button, you will find the 3.5mm stereo headset jack. At the bottom, you can find the mic and the USB connector. The phone has got an internal memory of 384MB and comes with a 2GB microSD. You can also expand the external memory up to 32GB. The Android OS v2.1 Éclair is powered with Qualcomm MSM 7227 600Mhz processor. We did not experience any lag whatsoever while using this phone.

The HTC Sense UI together with Android provides you with a choice of choosing 7 home screens on the HTC Aria. You can load your favorite apps, widgets, shortcuts and folders on the home screen. Android lets you access your Gmail account easily just by entering your email address and password. You can also set up Exchange ActiveSync and POP3/IMAP accounts. There is a document viewer that lets you view your office docs like Word and Excel. The sound output through the stereo headset was found to be okay. The Sense Music App has been developed well and has got features like album art and equalizer. It can play 3GP, MP4 and streamed content without any performance glitches. The 5 megapixel camera lacks flash which made the phone take nice looking snaps only when there were right lighting conditions. HTC Aria can record videos at 640 x 480 pixels at 28fps.

You can connect to the web at 3G speeds of 7.2Mbps HSDPA and also through Wi-Fi. The Flash enabled browser has plenty of features, hence it is considered to be the second best browser in the cell phone arena. With AT&T Navigator app ($9.99 per month) on the phone, you can make the full use of assisted GPS feature of HTC Aria. We recommend you to use Google Maps as it has got same features for free. Some other features of the phone include Bluetooth and stereo FM radio with RDS. The standard Li-ion 1200 mAh battery gives a stand-by time of 372 hours and talk time of 6 hours.
