htc wildfire 300x276 HTC Wildfire ReviewHTC Wildfire is a midrange Android handset that has recently hit the market. The build of the phone is very sturdy and it weighs 118g. The phone measures 106.8 x 60.4 x 12mm. Unlike other HTC handsets, the Wildfire does not stand tall. It has a squarish look and surprisingly the phone is very comfortable to hold. It has got a TFT capactive touchscreen that measures 3.2 inches. It has got a display resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and is capable of displaying 16m colors.

Below the display screen, you will find the touchsensitive Android buttons. The optical trackpad also works as a camera shutter button. The display screen lock is located at the right side of the phone and on the left side of the phone there is an audio jack. On the left, you can also find the volume controller and microUSB port without cover. The 5 megapixel camera with LED flash is located at the rear.

Like other HTC phones, even the HTC Wildfire sports the HTC Sense UI. The phone is powered with Android v2.1 OS and runs on 528 MHz processor. It has got 384MB RAM and 512MB ROM and the external memory can detect up to 32GB of microSD. The helicopter view which displays the seven homescreens on the same screen is a cool feature.

The videos can be recorded at 288 x 352 pixels (CIF quality) at 15fps. You can also record videos at 320 x 240 pixels resolution at 24fps. Listening to music through boxed headset is good. The sound through the loudspeaker was found to be low.

HTC Wildfire allows you to connect to the web at 3G speeds of 7.2Mbps on HSDPA and also through WLAN. The browser is not at all user-friendly. Pages render quickly and properly, however the only major drawback of the browser is its scrolling capability. Some of the other features of the phone include Bluetooth, digital compass, assisted GPS and FM Radio. Some of the applications that are present on the phone include Facebook, Flickr, Twitter, Google Search, Google Maps, Google Talk, Gmail, Picasa and YouTube.  The standard Li-Ion 1300 mAh battery gives a stand-by time of up to 690 hours on 3G and talk time of over 8 hours on 3G.

One Comment to “HTC Wildfire Review”

  1. I’m a ‘soon-to-be’ htc wildfire user from Kenya. I have been doing a little research on this phone and i’ve discovered it to be the most effective finances-smartphone.I am now able to order it, unlocked obviously, because it hasn’t but began being offerd in my country. The one huddle but to be falt with is findinga respected firm prepared to export abroad, particularly to Africa. To this point the only web site i’ve found is expansys.co.uk.
