LG Nitro HD (also known as LG P930) is a new addition to the HD phones available in the market. The LG Nitro HD measures 133.9 x 67.8 x 10.4mm and weighs 127g. The exterior of the phone is made up highly durable plastic and the rear has been designed well with impressive patterns.
LG Nitro HD has got an IPS-LCD capacitive touchscreen display that measures 4.5 inches and supports a display resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. It gives a display density of 329ppi. The display is very crisp and clear as it allows you to view fine texts very clearly when you browse on the web. It gives amazing viewing angles and is perfect for outdoor viewing.
Below the display, you can find the typical capacitive Android buttons. Above the display, you there is a 1.3MP front facing camera that records videos at 1080p resolution. When you see around the phone, you can find the usual ports and buttons such as volume controller, power button, microphone, 3.5mm audio jack, and microUSB slot. It does not have a microHDMI port. However, an MHL adapter can be connected to the microUSB port for HDMI output. Turning the phone to its back will give you access to the 8MP camera.
The LG Nitro HD has the same user interface that you can find on LG Optimus. It runs on Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread OS. The phone’s performance is smooth and quick only because of the 1.5 GHz CPU, Adreno 220 GPU and 1GB RAM present onboard. The internal storage is of 4GB and comes with 16GB memory card for external storage. It supports up to 32GB on its external storage.
The LG Nitro HD camera is capable of snapping of high quality photos through the 8 megapixel autofocus camera. Photos that were taken outdoors were decent. Artificial lighting can be observed when photos are taken indoors. When there is less light, the single LED flashes to deliver photos that please your eyes. The 1080p videos that can it record at 29fps is actually of average quality. The audio player is pretty decent and the audio output is average quality through the internal speaker. The 720p display is very suitable for HD videos. It supports all the video formats.
As far as web browsing is concerned, the LG Nitro HD gives you a browsing speed of HSDPA of 21Mbps and HSUPA of 5.76Mbps. The web browser supports Flash and hence gives you smooth browsing experience. Other connectivity features include, Wi-Fi, aGPS, and 3.0 Bluetooth. The 1830mAh battery gives a standby time of nearly 250 hours on 3G and up to 3 hours of talk time on 3G.
