Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition is a full-featured navigation phone that comes with cool accessories. Apart from the usual Nokia accessories such as charger, USB cable, and user manual, you will also get accessories like in-car holder and charger. When you checkout the spec sheet of this phone, you will come to know that phone lacks some features. The phone appears sleek and elegant and it measures 111.2 x 45.7 x 13.7mm and weighs 87g.

The Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition has 2.2 inches QVGA display that can display 16m colors. We prefer navigation phones to have a larger display that appears clear under the sun, however poor thing is Nokia 2710 fails miserably in this aspect. Below the display, you can find the soft keys and the D-pad.

On the right side of the D-pad there is a dedicated button for launching the Maps application. On the top side of the phone, you can find the lanyard eyelet, charger port and the 3.5mm audio jack. On the left side of the Nokia 2710 NE, you will find the microSD card slot and the microUSB port. On the right side, you can find the camera launcher. Strangely, the volume controller is missing. At the rear, there is 2 megapixel fixed-focus camera and loudspeaker.

The Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition is powered with S40 6th edition Symbian OS. The internal memory of the phone is 64MB only and it comes with a 2GB external memory. You can expand the phone’s external memory up to 16GB. The Nokia 2710 NE has got a decent music player and can play many formats such as AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, AMR-NB and MP3. It has got features like equalizer and stereo widening. The interface of the FM radio with RDS is similar to that of the music player. The phone can play video files such as 3GP and MP4.

The 2 megapixel camera snaps images at 1600 x 1200 resolutions. There are limited camera settings such as balance, resolution, and sequence shots. You can record videos at 15fps (QVGA). To connect to the web you can make use of Opera Mini browser through GPRS. There are three games on the phone namely, Rally 3D, Block’d (bubble breaker) and Sudoku.

Now it’s time to talk about the best feature of the phone – GPS. The phone comes with life-time license for Nokia Maps 2.1 (also known as Ovi Maps). The GPS receiver locks a location within seconds and the digital compass on the phone automatically rotates the map. You can download voice navigation to make use of the voice feature for navigating to desired place. You can make use of the ‘Send location’ feature to send a snapshot of the map as an MMS for sharing your location with others. Lastly, the battery life of the Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition was found to be quite impressive. The standard Li-Ion 1020 (BL-5C) battery gave a standby time of 432 hours and talk time of over 4 hours.
