Past couple of years has been quite dismal for Nokia. Their sales have gone down and they have deserted the Symbian and have switched over to the new OS from Microsoft. The Nokia Lumia 800 is one of the first phones from Nokia to run the latest version of Windows Phone 7.5. The phone measures 116.5 x 61.2 x 12.1mm and weighs 142g.

The looks of the Nokia Lumia 800 is similar to that of Nokia N9. It is one of the slimmest Windows Phone available. The polycarbonate unibody is quite sturdy. It has got a Clear Black AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that measures 3.7 inches and has a display resolution of 480 x 800 pixels.

Below the display, you can find three touch sensitive buttons. On the right side of the phone, we can find the camera button, volume controller and display lock and combo power button. On the top side, you can find the slots for microSIM and microSD card. At the rear, you can find 8 megapixel camera along with dual LED flash.

The phone runs on 1.4 Ghz Scorpion processor and has Adreno 205 GPU. There is no external memory slot on the phone. However, the internal memory of the phone is 16GB and comes with 512MB RAM. The Nokia Lumia 800 is loaded with inbuilt apps like Nokia Maps, Nokia Drive and Nokia Music.

The 8 megapixel autofocus camera is the camera lens that is present on Nokia N9. It is capable of capturing decent photos in landscape and macro mode. It is not up to the mark in noise handling. The dual LED flash does well in illuminating the subject but images appear little grainy. The camera is capable of recording HD videos of 720p at 30fps. When it comes to music, you can listen to music through the Zune player. The Lumia 800 lacks codec support and it can only play MP4 and WMV video files. However, you will like watching videos on your Lumia 800.

For browsing on the web, you are provided with Microsoft’s very own Internet Explorer. Smooth scrolling, smooth zooming, double-tapping and pinch-to-zoom are some of the browsing features of IE. It lacks Flash support. You can browse on the web at speeds of 14.4Mbps HSDPA and 5.76Mbps HSUPA and also through Wi-Fi. The Li-Ion 1450 mAh battery delivers a standby time of over 330 hours on 3G and over 9 hours of talk time on 3G.
