Samsung Behold II T939 Review – Powered with Android

SamsungBeholdII 300x225 Samsung Behold II T939 Review – Powered with AndroidThe magic of the original Samsung Behold was put out by the Samsung Memoir. Now, the successor of the original Behold phone, Samsung Behold II T939 is all set to grab attention as it is powered with Android OS. The Behold II already has many competitors in the market such as Motorola DROID and HTC Hero that run the Android OS. Even though Samsung Behold II is a classic phone, it is tough to say that it can survive the battle against the giants.

The T-Mobile’s Samsung Behold II has a large AMOLED capactive touchscreen that measures 3.2 inches. It displays a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. The clarity of the display is lost when the phone is viewed under sunlight. On the top right side of the phone, you can find the light and proximity sensors that helps in saving power. Below the display screen, you can find the cube key and other buttons like home, send, end, menu and back.

On the left side of the phone, you can find the volume rocker whereas on the right the phone locks button and the shutter key. On the top edge, you can find the microUSB port and a 3.5mm audio jack. At the back, you can find a world map nicely imprinted on the back cover. You will also find the 5 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash at the rear. Opening the back cover will give you access to the battery, SIM card slot and microSD memory card behold ii img 0667 300x231 Samsung Behold II T939 Review – Powered with Android

One of the disadvantages of the Samsung Behold II is that it runs Android OS 1.5 when all the new Android phones from other brands are being shipped with version 2.0. On the Behold II, you can enjoy the new TouchWiz interface on the Android user interface. The phone becomes sluggish in performance when you open several applications at one time. The 3D cube application is very good and allows you to access the following applications such as YouTube, Amazon MP3 Store, web browser, images, videos, and music.

The organizer application, calendar can sync with your Gmail account. Other organizer applications include memo and task lists. The onscreen QWERTY keyboard can be used easily to type in messages and emails. If you are someone who types fast, you will notice that the keyboard responds slowly to your finger gestures. Only by entering email address and password, you can access Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail accounts. The instant messenger app allows you to access AIM, Windows Live and Yahoo Messenger. You can find a dedicated application for Gtalk.

Samsung Behold II’s music player plays audio formats like MP3, e-AAC+ and WMA. The sound through the loudspeaker was not that impressive. The visuals present on the music player are very impressive. Video formats such as MP4, H.263, H.264 and WMV. The photos taken by means of the 5 megapixel camera are simply amazing with remarkable details and color depth. The phone comes with 2GB memory card and can read up to 16GB. The performance of the web browser is slow and pages do not load quickly even on 3G and Wi-Fi internet connection.
