Recently, T-Mobile introduced the new Android phone from Samsung named Samsung Vibrant T959. If you look at this phone carefully, you will come to realize that the design is exactly same as the one found on Galaxy S 19000. The phone measures 122.4 x 64.5 x 9.9m and weighs only 117.9g. The phone is very comfortable to hold and construction-wise it appears to be very durable. It has got a 4 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display and is capable of displaying 16m colors at a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The display is quite bright and you will be able to understand what’s on the screen when you view it under direct sunlight.
There are four touch sensitive buttons below the display. The Samsung Vibrant has got few physical buttons. The volume controller and power button are present on the sides of the phone. AT&T’s new Samsung phone – Samsung Captivate is powered with Android OS and is expected to give all the hi-end Android phones a tough competition. Samsung Captivate belongs to the Samsung Galaxy S line of phones. The phone appears to be very sleek and sophisticated. The phone measures 122.4 x 64.2 x 9.9mm and weighs only 118g. One of the best things about this phone is that it sports an AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display which measures 4 inches. It has got a display resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and is capable of displaying 16m colors. The display is very bright and clear. However, you will face some difficulties in viewing it outdoors.
There are four touch sensitive buttons on the phone namely Menu, Home, Back and Search. On the top side of the phone, you can find the 3.5mm audio headset and the microUSB port. At the rear, you can find the 5 megapixel camera with the speaker. Uncovering the back panel of the phone will give you access to the battery, SIM card slot and the memory card.
Like other Samsung phones even the Samsung Captivate I897 has got the TouchWiz 3.0 user interface. The TouchWiz overlaid over Android 2.1 and brings to you seven homescreens. HTC Wildfire is a midrange Android handset that has recently hit the market. The build of the phone is very sturdy and it weighs 118g. The phone measures 106.8 x 60.4 x 12mm. Unlike other HTC handsets, the Wildfire does not stand tall. It has a squarish look and surprisingly the phone is very comfortable to hold. It has got a TFT capactive touchscreen that measures 3.2 inches. It has got a display resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and is capable of displaying 16m colors.
Below the display screen, you will find the touchsensitive Android buttons. The optical trackpad also works as a camera shutter button. The display screen lock is located at the right side of the phone and on the left side of the phone there is an audio jack. U.S. Cellular brings you the new Samsung Acclaim phone (aka Samsung SCH-R880) which is powered with Android OS. The phone measures 114 x 59 x 15mm and weighs 130g. The body of the phone is made up of glossy black plastic and it appears to be very durable. The TFT touchscreen display measures 3.2 inches and has a display resolution of 320 x 480 pixels and is capable of displaying 256k colors. The accelerometer rotates the display whenever it is held sideways or when you slide out the QWERTY keyboard. The proximity sensor turns of the display when a call is in progress.
Below the display of Samsung Acclaim, you can find four physical buttons namely, Menu, Home, Back, Search and an optical trackpad. On the left side of the phone, you can find the microSD slot and volume controller. The camera launcher and charger port is located at the right side. On the top you can find the 3.5mm audio jack. Verizon Wireless has introduced a new Motorola phone with Android OS – Motorola Droid X M8810. This phone is the successor to the original Motorola Droid A855 that was released last year. The phone weighs 155g and measures 127.5 x 65.5 x 9.9 mm. It comes with a TFT capactive touchscreen display that measures 4.3 inches and has a FWVGA display resolution of 480 x 854 pixels and is capable of displaying up to 16m colors. It goes without saying that phone is bulky; however, the guys at Motorola have tried their best to make the phone as thin as possible.
Below the display of Motorola Droid X, there are four physical buttons namely Menu, Home, Back and Search. On the left side of the phone, you can find the microUSB and micro HDMI video port. On the top, there is power and display lock button along with the 3.5mm audio jack. On the right side, there is a volume controller and camera launcher. Samsung Intercept is a Sprint carrier with the Android OS. Sprint had released 3 other Android phones in the recent past – Samsung Moment, HTC Hero and HTC EVO 4G. These smartphones were premium devices. However, the Samsung Intercept is a mid-range phone. It feels good to hold this phone as it weighs only 139g and measures 113 x 56 x 15 mm. The TFT touchscreen display of the phone measures 3.2 inches and has a display resolution of 240 x 400 pixels and is capable of displaying 65k colors. It has also got accelerometer feature for automatically rotating the phone when you hold it horizontally or vertically.
Below the display of the Samsung Intercept are present four capactive keys. There is an optical joystick as well as send and end physical buttons. On the right side of the phone, you 3.5mm audio jack and the camera key whereas the on the left side you can find the volume controller and the microSD sot.
