Apple iPhone 4 Review

Apple has been releasing new version iPhone each year from 2007. The much awaited Apple iPhone 4 is here. However, this time it is going to face serious competition from other brands as most of them have released powerful smartphones in the market. Apple iPhone 4 is one of the thinnest smartphones that we have come across. The overall make of the phone makes it look very durable. It weighs 137g and measures 115.2 x 58.6 x 9.3mm.

The Apple iPhone 4 has LED back-lit IPS LCD display with a display resolution of 640 x 960 pixels. The display is also known as ‘Retina Display’. The size of the display screen is 3.5 inches and supports 16 million colors. Till now, we have never come across a phone that has got such a detailed screen. The display is so clear that you will not face any problem in viewing it under direct sunlight.

Below the display, you can find the single home button. On the left side of the phone, you can find the vibrate switch and volume controller. On the top, you can find the 3.5mm audio headset jack and the power button. On the right side, you can find the micro SIM card slot and lastly at the bottom, speakers are present with the Apple’s proprietary connection slot. Flip the phone to its back and you will find the 5 megapixel autofocus camera with flash with mirror. At the front, there is a secondary 0.3 megapixel camera for video calling.

Apple iPhone 4 unleashes the new operating system – iOS4. It is one of the most responsive OS and has got plenty of new features such as multi-tasking, exchange servers, etc. However, it still lacks cool features like Live Wallpaper of Android 2.1. The on-screen keyboard does not lag and also underlines misspelled words. The 1Ghz Apple A4 processor powers the phone to produce snappy performance. The internal memory of the phone is 16/32 GB with 512MB RAM. The phone does not allow you to expand the memory. The new OS lets you make use of Bluetooth to connect to wireless headset and Bluetooth keyboard.

The 5 megapixel autofocus camera comes with backside-illuminate sensor that lets you take detailed snaps in low light areas. It has got a single LED flash. It lets you record videos at 720p at 30fps. You can perform video calling through Fring app on the iPhone 4. You can surf the web on 3G at 7.2Mbps HSDPA and 5.76Mbps HSUPA. There is no radio on the phone.

The Flash web browser on the iPhone 4 lets you have a wonderful browsing experience. The performance of the web browser is almost the same as found on the previous versions of iPhone. The aGPS feature can be accessed through Google Maps app. The Li-Po 1420mAh battery is capable of producing standby time of 300h on 3G and talk time of 7 hours on 3G.
