The Bold 9790 is the sibling phone of Bold 9900. Compared to the latter, Bold 9790 is smaller and lightweight. The construction is very solid. The touchscreen display measures 2.45 inches. It has a display resolution of 480 x 360 pixels. The clarity of the display is impressive as even the smallest of the text is clearly readable. You will find no problems in viewing the display in bright sunlight.

The BlackBerry Bold 9790 runs on the latest OS – BlackBerry OS 7. The phone is powered with 1GHz processor and 768 RAM that makes the phone perform smoothly. The internal memory of the phone is 8GB. Remove BlackBerry Help App
When you can access internet on your phone, you can get help and support on the BlackBerry website and other sites on the web. Hence, you do not require BlackBerry Help App and free up some space.

Delete Different Language Packages
Your device will contain some language packages such as German and Spanish, etc. If you do not use them, you can go ahead and safely delete from your phone.

Delete Old Appointments
Having plenty of old appointments can eat up a lot of memory. You can delete these appointments and make some space. Usually this option will not help you much in saving memory.

BlackBerry Pearl 3G 9105 Review

BlackBerry Pearl 3G 9105 is very similar to its predecessor 9100 model, however this phone comes with a 14-key traditional keypad instead of the QWERTY keyboard. It is an entry level smartphone device and even though it has got simple looks, it appears to be a high-end device. It measures 108 x 50 x 13.3 mm and is a very lightweight phone as it weighs only 93.6 g. It has got TFT display screen that measures 2.3 inches and manages to provide you with crisp viewing experience. You will be able to view the display clearly outdoors only if you set the brightness to its highest setting.

The good old trackball of BlackBerry is replaced with optical track-pad on the Pearl 3G. The usual buttons like send, end, back and menu can be found around the track-pad. On the left side of the BlackBerry Pearl 3G, you can find the 3.5 mm audio jack, the microUSB port which can be used for data transfer as well as for charging, and the left convenience key. The volume controller and the right convenience key that is available for starting the camera application are located on the right. You can find music controls located on the top side of the phone. Turning the phone to its back will give you access to the 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash.

The BlackBerry Pearl 3G has got 624 MHz processor and 256MB RAM and runs on BlackBerry OS 5. It would have been better if the phone came with the newer version of the OS. The phone comes preloaded with 512MB microSD and can be replaced with a maximum of 32GB microSD. As far personalization is concerned, you are only limited to change wallpaper and add icons to the homescreen. You can sync the address book by making use of Google Sync. You can easily setup email accounts on this phone by inputting your email address and password. When it comes to social networking, Facebook, Twitter and MySpace apps are what you get. The usual AT&T apps such as AT&T Maps, AT&T Navigator for GPS, AT&T Radio, etc are also available on this phone.

The images captured through 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera are not impressive and the photos appear even worse when taken in low lighting conditions. From this we can understand that even the LED flash is not able to improve the quality of the images. You can record videos at resolution of 640 x 480 at 23 fps. The audio clarity of the phone is quite good. The sound is very clear and audible and you will simply enjoy listening to music on the BlackBerry Pearl 3G. However, there is nothing special about watching videos on this phone. With landscape orientation and ability to play MP4 files of 640 x 480 pixels, you have not got many options on this phone.

The BlackBerry Pearl 3G lets you browse on the web on Wi-Fi and on 3G speeds of HSUPA and 3.6Mbps on HSDPA. Even though the web browser is good and renders pages quickly, the size of the screen is quite small for enjoying web browsing. Opera Mini and Bolt Browser are the two web browser available on the phone. The standard 1500 Li-Ion mAh battery gives a standby time of 312 hours on 3G and talk time of up to 5 hours on 3G.

BlackBerry Applications That You Should Avoid

berryscreencleanerOn the web, you can find plenty of sites from where you can download applications for your BlackBerry phone. However, after installing some applications on your phone that some of the applications are simply useless. Hence, not all the applications present on the applications download site are good.

Here are some BlackBerry applications that you should avoid:

Berry Screen Cleaner
It is an accelerometer based applications for you phone. Just launch the application and you will find water droplets appearing on the screen of the phone. These water droplets are supposed to clean the screen of your phone. In order to this, you are supposed to tilt the phone until the droplets spread and disappear. Since cleaning the screen of your phone is a physical process and not a virtual one, this application is simply useless.

BlackBerry Diagnostics
From the name of the application, you can understand what it is meant for. This application is supposed to show you information such as cell ID, local area code, base station identity code, IMERI number, battery status, model number, etc. Most of the features are simply not easy to understand and the values that are shown will not make any sense to you by the app. Some of the other features such are simply not required because without using the application you can come to know the status of your phone’s battery, or if the phone is in hoister or you are holding it , or if the phone’s battery is removable or not. This application is meant for someone who is clueless about the simplest of things of the phone. In simple terms, its useless.

Fear of the Dark
Fear of the Dark is a very old video game and those of you who have played this game may get excited to find an application by the same name. This game is actually not playable as trackball or any of the keys of the phone do not respond. Moreover, the application crashes frequently after a few seconds of launching it. In simple words, this application does not seem to work and the best thing to do is avoid it.

Free Staples
Launch this application and you will find a big red colored button showing right at the center of your phone. When you press the red button, it is said to get rid of your stress and the best part is that the more you press it, the faster it will help in getting rid of stress. Truly a perfect application for a person who is looking to do something urgent to get rid of stress.LOL

The next thing you need to do is restart the phone and your phone will work in perfectly fine condition. If you frequently face this problem on your phone, you can address it to the BlackBerry support and get it rectified.

How to Prevent White Screen of Death?

If you want to prevent WSOD from occurring on your phone, you need to make sure you do not run too many applications at one time. Additionally, you can remove the battery and replace it back again at least once in a week.
