Motoluxe Review

Rating: ★★★½☆

Motoluxe is a midrange phone from Motorola. The phone measures 117.7 x 60.5 x 9.9mm and weighs 123.6g. It is a very pretty phone. It is slim and has metallic elements on its body. It has a solid and sturdy appeal with soft touch finish.

The Motoluxe has a large capacitive display that measures 4.0 inches. It has a display resolution of 480 x 854 pixels with a pixel density of 245ppi. This enables you to view crisp and clear images. However, it becomes difficult to view the display outdoors even if you set the brightness to its highest setting. Below the display, on the left hand side, you can find a large notification light. A blinking light is what you see whenever you receive an SMS or miss a call.

The Motoluxe fails miserably when it comes to performance. You will experience great deal of sluggishness and the phone tends to lag from time to time. This becomes more evident when there few widgets on the homescreen. The reason behind such a performance is the 800MHz processor and Adreno 200. Motoluxe has 1GB ROM and 512MB RAM onboard. The external memory can support up to 32GB of microSD. The Android GingerBread is what you get on this phone.

The 8MP autofocus camera can be used for taking above average photos. The images lack clarity and detail. It takes nearly three second for the camera to be ready to take new photo after snapping one photo. It can record only VGA quality videos. The music player is quite as it has a unique feature of automatically downloading lyrics and album art while playing any song. The video player only supports playing MP4 videos of not more than 800 x 480 pixels.

When it comes to web browsing, you will experience choppiness while accessing heavy sites through the preloaded browser. However, web browsing becomes a better experience on Motoluxe when you disable Adobe Flash. HSDPA at 7.2Mbps and HSUPA at 5.76Mbps are the speeds that the Motoluxe offers you. Other features include Wi-Fi, DLNA, aGPS, stereo FM radio and Bluetooth. The standard Li-Ion 1400mAh battery gives nearly 400 hours of standby time on 3G and over 4 hours of talk time on 3G.

Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX Review

Rating: ★★★½☆

The original Motorola DROID RAZR was released in November 2010 and everything was good about it except for the non-removable battery. Now, the newer edition of the phone has hit the stands. The name is Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX and it comes with a removable heavy duty battery. The phone measures 130.7 x 68.9 x 8 mm and weighs 145g.

The phone looks quite similar to its predecessor. The build quality is excellent as it is made up of premium quality stainless steel. The inner nano-coating makes it liquid repellent. The Super AMOLED advanced capacitive touchscreen measures 4.3 inches and has a display resolutio

n of 540 x 960 pixels. Its pixel density is 256ppi. It is well protected with corning Gorilla glass. The contents of the display are very visible under the direct sun and gives good viewing angles.

Above the camera, there is a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera and the Android capacitive buttons are found below the display. On the left side of the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX, there is a flap that covers microSIM 4G slot and microSDHC sl
The Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX runs on Android 2.3.6 and it can be upgraded to the latest Android ICS OS later in the year. It also comes with Motorola’s MOTOBLUR user interface. It is powered with 1.2GHz dual-core cortex A9 processor with TI OMAP 4430 chipset. It has PowerVR SGX540 GPU. The internal memory of the phone is 8GB and comes with 1GB RAM. The phone comes preloaded with 16GB memory card in it’s externally memory which can read up to 32G of microSD.ot. The display lock/power button is located at the right edge. Here you can also find the volume controller. The 8 megapixel auto-focus camera is located at the rear.

The 8 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash is capable of decent photos. However, the image details are not that great. LED flash does well in illuminating the environment in dim lighting conditions. However, autofocusing in dim lighting is poor. You can videos of HD quality (1920 x 1080p) at 30fps. The audio output is good through both earphones and loudspeaker. You will enjoy watching movies on the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX.

The internet browsing speed is amazing thanks to 4G LTE support. You can get download speeds of up to 12Mbps and upload speeds of 8Mbps. The Android browser is capable of displaying heavy websites in desktop-like format. You will have no problems in viewing Flash content in the browser. Other connectivity features include Wi-Fi (with DLNA support), Bluetooth, HDMI port and aGPS. The massive 3300mAh Li-Ion battery gives a talk time of over 21 hours and standby time of over 375 hours.

Motorola Droid 4 Review

Rating: ★★★½☆

Motorola adds yet another new phone to the Droid series phones – the Motorola Droid 4. The phones measures 127 x 67.3 x 12.7mm and weighs 178.9g. The phone has a very sturdy appeal and the exterior is made up of water-repellant technology. However it is not fully waterproof.

The Motorola Droid 4 has a very large sized capacitive touchscreen display that measures 4 inches. It comes with a display resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. Below the display, you can find four capacitive Android buttons. Located above the display is the front-facing camera of 1.3MP and it is powerful enough to record 720p videos. The power button and volume controllers have soft response. On the left edge of the phone, you can find the microUSB and the microHDMI slots. At the rear, there is a 8MP camera. The physical QWERTY is one of the main USPs of this phone. It’s very easy to use and you can create content and navigate quite easily through it.

The Motorola Droid 4 runs on Android v2.3.6 Gingerbread and on top of it you get the MOTOBLUR user interface. Quite a downer we say when leading brands are switching to Android Ice-cream Sandwich OS. However, you can upgrade to the latest version of Android OS in near future. The Droid 4 is powered by 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. It has a PowerVR SGX540 GPU. There is 1GB RAM onboard. The internal memory of the Droid 4 is 16GB and comes with an external storage capability of 32GB.

The 8MP camera of the Droid 4 is accompanied with features like autofocus and LED flash. We noticed a bluish hue in all the snapped photos. The LED flash does not do much when it comes to taking photos in dim lighting. The Droid 4 is capable of recording 1080p HD videos at 29fps. The video is not that great but audio clarity is quite good. The music player supports all known formats and comes with numerous equalizer settings. You can enjoy high resolution videos on the phone and most of the video formats including DivX and XviD formats are supported.

Thanks to the 4G LTE connectivity, you can enjoy lightning fast internet browsing experience. You will not experience slowness even when browsing heavy web pages. Flash content loads pretty fast and you get to experience top quality browsing experience. Other connectivity features include Wi-Fi, aGPS, and Bluetooth 4.0. The standard Li-Ion 1785mAh battery gives a standby time of 204 hours and talk time of over 12 hours.

Motorola Photon 4G Review

Android has been quite a savior for Motorola. After Motorola started producing Android phones, the company has again started moving towards success. Motorola Photon 4G is a very powerful phone that comes with plenty of features. It measures 126.9 x 66.9 x 12.2mm and weighs 158g.

The very look at the Motorola Photon 4G will remind you of the good old RAZR V9m. Its gunmetal appearance is quite impressive. It sports a capacitive touchscreen display that measures 4.3 inches and has a display resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. The qHD display is very bright and crisp and has excellent viewing angles. The phone is slightly angular in appearance and the rear of the phone is rounded which gives you a good grip. The volume controller and camera button are ribbed. It has got a kickstand at the rear which is very sturdy. The microUSB port is at the left side of the phone. It has also got an HDMI port.

The phone is powered with Android v2.3 (Gingerbread) OS. The smooth performance of the phone is mainly because of 1Ghz dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor. It has also got ULP GeForce GPU and Tegra 2 AP20H chipset. The Motorola Photon 4G is loaded with plenty of applications such as social networking apps, apps from Sprint, QuickOffice, and other Gogle Apps.

Flipping the phone to its back will reveal its 8 megapixel camera. The camera functions very well and better when there is strong light. The details on the snapped photos are very impressive and it lets you take amazing macro shots. With this high performance camera, you can record videos of 720p as well as 1080p.

The music player is the same standard one from Android. It lets you access your music files, podcasts, FM and internet radio. It can play all the well-known formats. The Motorola Photon 4G supports DNLA which lets you stream audios and videos to a Wi-Fi enabled device.

As far as connectivity is concerned the Motorola Photon 4G gives you a high speed (4G speed) internet connectivity through Sprint’s WiMAX network. Other connectivity features include, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and GPS. The internet browser from Android is quite fast and it can play Flash content without any choppiness. Complex pages load quickly. Motorola Atrix 4G Review

Motorola had released quite a few smartphones in the previous year like BRAVO, FLIPSIDE and FLIPOUT but none of these phones achieved much success. This year Motorola and AT&T have rolled out the Motorola ATRIX 4G. The phone measures 117.8 x 63.5 x 11 mm and weighs 135g. The phones exterior is made up of plastic and the back cover has got interesting pattern on it. The design is not a masterpiece but just a decent one.

The Motorola Atrix 4G comes with a TFT capacitive touchscreen that measures 4 inches. The display resolution is 540 x 960 pixels. The display is made up of Gorilla Glass. The display is very visible under the direct sun and you do not shield the display to view its contents. Below the display, you can find the usual Android touch sensitive buttons. Near the earpiece, you can find the 0.3 megapixel front camera.

On the left side of the Motorola Atrix 4G, you can find the microUSB and microHDMI port. On the right, you can find the volume controller. On the top, you there is a 3.5 mm audio headset jack along with the power button. The latter also doubles up as fingerprint reader for unlocking the phone. At the rear, you can find the 5 megapixel auto-focus camera with dual LED flash.

Motorola calls the Atrix 4G as ‘the world’s most powerful smartphone’ because it comes with 1 GHz dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 CPU along with 1 GB RAM. This means you will have no problems in playing 3D games and using animated live wallpaper on this phone. The internal memory of the phone is 16GB and the card slot reads up to 32GB. The MOTOBLUR feature gives you access to the social world.

The 5 megapixel camera of Motorola Atrix 4G manages to capture high quality snaps with neutral colors and good details. Even in low lighting environments, the images have good details. You can record 720p HD videos at 29 frames per second. Motorola has promised that in the near future users will be able shoot 1080p videos. The Android music player is usual stuff and shows enough info such as album cover, track info, etc and it comes with equalizer settings. You will love watching HD videos on this phone. MP4 videos of 1280 x 720 resolution can be played smoothly on Motorola Atrix 4G.

The Android internet browser lets you browse on the web through 3G (14Mbps HSDPA and 5.76Mbpx HSUPA) and WLAN. The browser supports Flash Player 10.1. It offers kinetic scrolling, double tap zooming, tabbed browsing, etc. The other features of this phone include GPS, Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP and EDR, Quick Office, etc. The Li-Po 1930 mAh battery of Motorola Atrix 4G gives a standby time of 350 hours on 3G and talk time of 9 hours on 3G.

Motorola Droid Pro Review

Motorola Droid Pro XT610 is the newer version of the Motorola Droid phone from Verizon Wireless. The phone weighs 134g and measures 119 x60 x 11.7 mm. The form factor of the phone is very similar to that of a BlackBerry phone. The exterior of the phone is made up of hard plastic which makes it very durable.

The display of Motorola Droid Pro measures 3.1 inches. The capacitive touchscreen display has got a display resolution of 320 x 480 pixels and is capable of displaying 16 million colors. The display occupies the major area of the phone at the front and the remaining part is occupied by the QWERTY keyboard. Typing on this keyboard is not easy but with frequent usage you will be able to create text messages and emails easily.

On the left side of the Motorola Droid Pro, you can find the volume rocker and the microUSB port. On the right side, you can a programmable key. At the top, you can find the power button and 3.5mm audio jack. At the rear is located the 5 megapixel camera.

The Motorola Droid Pro runs on the Android 2.2 operating system. It allows you to make use of 7 homescreens and add custom widgets. The internal memory of the phone is 8GB and comes with 512 MB RAM and 2GB ROM. The external memory of the phone can read up to 32GB of microSD and comes with 8GB card. The phone’s snappy performance is all because of the 1GHz processor and PowerVR SGX530 GPU.

The 5 megapixel camera of Motorola Droid Pro disappointed us as the snaps appeared to be blurry and grainy. When lighting conditions were good, it could take decent photos. You can record DVD quality videos on this phone. The video player can easily play video range of video formats including DivX and XviD files. The stock Android music player comes with simple features.

The stock Android web browser loads pages without delay. You can access the web using 3G and Wi-Fi internet connectivity. The standard Li-Ion battery of 1420mAh gives a standby time of over 310 hours on 3G and talk time of nearly 7 hours on 3G.

Motorola CLIQ 2 Review

Motorola had released the original CLIQ phone in the year 2009 and then came the Motorola CLIQ XT and now they are back with the new edition of the phone – the CLIQ 2. This adds another phone to the list of T-Mobile phones. The phone weighs 116 x 59.6 x 14.5mm and weighs 175g. The front slider phone has a good appeal especially when the QWERTY is revealed.

The capacitive display of Motorola CLIQ 2 measures 3.7 inches and has a display resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. This resolution is the same that is found in DROID 2. However, the overall brightness of the phone is not much and viewing it in bright sunlight is not easy. As you go on a journey around the sides of the phone, you can find the 3.5mm audio headset jack, microUSB port, an LED notification light, camera key, volume controller, power button, etc. At the rear is the 5 megapixel camera with autofocus function and flash. The QWERTY keyboard can be accessed by sliding the display. It is very user-friendly and keys are well spaced to give good messaging experience.

The Motorola CLIQ 2 is powered with 1 GHz processor, 512MB RAM and 1024MB ROM. The internal memory of the phone is 1GB and the microSD slot can read up to 32GB of memory. The phone performs smoothly, however its responsiveness is not the best when it comes to navigation and using multiple applications simultaneously. The Android v2.2 phone brings to you the power of live wallpapers. The latest edition of MOTOBLUR is found in this phone. The Social Networking gives you access to host of apps like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Linkedin and many more.

The 5 megapixel camera of Motorola CLIQ 2 snaps good photos with decent details but the images are not that impressive when artificial lighting comes into play. The LED flash does well in reducing the noise. You can high resolution videos of 720p on this phone at 28fps. Watching movies or listening to music is quite a good experience on this phone.

Motorola CLIQ 2’s internet browser supports Flash 10.1 which gives you desktop like browsing experience. You can enjoy high speed web surfing on the phone through 3G and WLAN. The standard Li-Ion battery of 1420 mAh gives a standby time of over 310 hours and talk time of nearly 8 hours.
