Sharp FX Review

AT&T’s Sharp FX is a smartphone that not only looks different but also is loaded with lot of features. It measures 114.3 x 55.9 x 15.2mm and weighs 141.8g. The body of the phone is made of plastic. It has got a TFT display that measures 3 inches and is capable of display 256k colors at a display resolution of 400 x 240 pixels. The display becomes unviewable when you use it under bright sunlight.

Under the display, you can three buttons meant for Send, Back/Clear and End. On the left side of the phone, you can find the 3.5mm audio jack, microUSB slot and volume controller. On the right side, you can find the display lock/unlock button, camera shutter button and lanyard slot on the right edge of the phone. At the rear there is a 2 megapixel camera. You can access the battery, SIM card slot and microSD slot by uncovering the back panel.

Slide the touchscreen until it snaps on to its position and you will be able to see 4-row keyboard. All the keys are well=spaced and you will be able to create messages easily. The user interface of Sharp FX is similar to that of Samsung TouchWiz. Some applications that are found on this phone include Mobile Web, AT&T Social Net, and IMs such as AIM, Windows Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger.

The images taken through the 2 megapixel is good, however the images taken indoors are not of good quality and lack details. You can record videos at QVGA resolution at 15fps. The sound output through the loudspeaker is loud and sharp. The audio player does not have equalizer settings and is just a simple audio player. The internal memory of the phone is 80MB and can detect up to 32GB through its external memory.

Sharp FX allows you to connect to the web through 3G at 3.6 Mbps speed on HSDPA. The Opera Mini is the default internet browser and has got all the features such as tabbed browsing, zoom, etc. For smoother web surfing experience, you can use the POLARIS web browser present on the phone. The other features of the phone include Bluetooth and stereo FM radio. The standard Li-Ion 1240 mAh battery gives a stand-by time of up to 240 hours and talk time of up to 3 hours.
