HTC Desire Review

htc-desire_1HTC Desire is one of the most desirable phones of HTC. However, it has an uncanny resemblance to Google Nexus One. HTC Desire is by far the most powerful Android phones HTC has manufactured till date. HTC Desire has metal framing around the display and the back is made up of plastic. Hence, it does not appear to be a sturdy phone. The memory card and SIM card are placed beneath the battery; hence, you are required to take out the battery in order to access the microSD and SIM card.

google-nexus-oneGoogle is all set to start the new year with a bang with its first smart phone release – Nexus One.

A full touch screen smartphone based on the Android OS, this phone is touted to be the iPhone killer (really? there has been too many ‘iPhone killers’, but none has lived up to expectations, so far).

No hardware specifications are available as yet, but it has been confirmed to be manufactured by HTC.

LG Venus Review

lg-venusThe Venus from LG is another touch screen phone offering. However, this one has a dual touch sensitive screen (similar to the Samsung Soul) for maximum ease of use and of course, to help impress your friends!

The main screen is an ordinary TFT screen with a nice 262k colors and a resolution of 320×240. This is accompanied by what LG have name their ‘InteractPadTM‘ which is a contextual touch screen interface with a resolution of 240×176. The InteractPad is the main means of navigating the phone and, as it is contextual, the options change depending on what you’re trying to do. For example, if you’re listening to music then Play, Pause, Fast Forward et cetera keys will display, and if you’re navigating menus you’ll simply get Up, Down and OK.

LG Versa Review

lg-versa

Catering to various needs, the LG Versa probably got it’s name from the word, versatile.  It can be configured as a standard phone not unlike the LG Dare, or as a horizontal flip phone messaging device with the main selling point, the add on keyboard, which also doubles as a case to protect the phone and it’s screen.

LG Versa is long and narrow, measuring 4 1/8″ by 2″and 0.5″ thick.  The LCD display is a three inch touch screen with a 480 by 240 resolution and 18-bit color depth. As with most phones, it is hard to see in direct sunlight, but this baby does a pretty good job. The touch screen seems to be more effective than previous phone models, and responds quite easily without applying pressure.
